EXPERIENCE:

June 07 -       Doris Inc. (Contract)

Present         Murphy Azurite FDPSO Project Management Team, Singapore

Owner’s representative, Instrument & Control Systems Lead and Commissioning Lead for this Singapore based FDPSO conversion.  The Azurite is a DNV Classed VLCC, which will begin operations in 1400 meters of water off the coast of the Republic of Congo in early 2009.  Systems include the Process Control Systems, Safety Systems, Fire and Gas Systems, Vessel Systems and Sub-Sea and Drilling Interfaces.

 

January 07 - Emerson Process Management (Contract)

Present         Project Manager and Instrument and Controls Consultant, Singapore

Provided Project Management for petroleum offshore containerized equipment rooms (CER) for Brunei Shell Petroleum and provided Cause and Effect consulting services for the Tanker Pacific/Coogee Montara FPSO Project.  Cause and Effect consulting services included the Well Head Platform, Turret (APL), Subsea, Process and Marine Systems including PSD, ESD, and Fire & Gas Systems.

 

May 06 -         Alpha Petroleum Services (Contract)

Sept 07          AWE Umuroa FPSO Project Management Team, Singapore

Owner’s representative, Instrument and Control Systems Lead for this Singapore based FPSO conversion.  Systems included the Process Control Systems, Safety Systems, Fire & Gas Systems, Vessel Management Systems and Sub-sea System Interfaces for the New Zealand Tui Field, Umuroa FPSO (730,000 barrel capacity).  The Umuroa is an ABS Classed Vessel with ABS certified topsides and began production 3rd Quarter 2007 off the coast of New Zealand in the Tui Field in 100 meters of water.  This converted Suezmax tanker capable of producing 50,000 bopd and 120,000 bpd of water processing and 25mmscfd of gas compression.  The ship included a gas/oil separation module, water treatment module, dehydration module, two gas lift compressors and a vapor recovery compressor, two gas/oil fired boilers, two turbo alternators and a flare module.  Oversight of all instrumentation and control system engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and start-up.  Also included  were overview of the system architecture, communications, wiring, instrument and valve specification, P&ID development, Cause and Effect development and Commissioning and Test Plans.

May 06           Project Manager, Houston, TX

Responsible for the FEL definition and implementation of Safety Instrumented (IEC 61511 compliant) Systems and Distributed Control Systems for Lyondell Equistar.  Primary systems included Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion and Invensys Triconex.  Managed estimating, engineering, design and implementation of multiple projects for Lyondell and approximately 20 engineers, designers and support personnel.  Projects included estimating, project planning,


system definition, field survey, instrument and electrical specification, P&ID and cause and effect development and functional definition, instrument and electrical design, and implementation.

 

Dec 02 -         Contech Control Services

April 05          Manager, EPC Projects, La Porte, TX

Responsible for scoping, defining and management of turn-key EPC I&E projects for refining, petrochemical and oil and gas production.  Projects involved all elements of control system retrofits from instrument specification, electrical design, control system selection, control system configuration, construction, checkout and start-up.  Systems included Honeywell Experion, Emerson Delta V, Yokogowa CS 3000 and Siemens PCS 7.  Management of 27 engineering and 31 craft personnel for projects $100k to $5 million.  Clients included ExxonMobil, BP and Lyondell.

Dec 02           Sales Manager/Sr. Consultant, Houston, TX

Scoping and defining automation and electrical projects for a various industries including onshore/offshore oil and gas production, pipelines, refining, chemical, food, pharmaceutical and power.  Projects include green field, retrofits, upgrades and higher level connectivity; and Honeywell, Emerson, Invensys, Yokogawa and Siemens DCS systems and PLC’s.

 

July 00 -        Aspen Technology, Inc.

Jan 01            Sr. Project Manager, Newark, DE

Responsible for the implementation of a $20 million Integrated Demand and Supply Planning (supply chain) project for 10 chemical business units within BP.  Lead a team of 40+ business consultants in Chicago and London on the application of the three major modules (demand forecasting, supply demand balancing and scheduling) of Aspentech’s MIMI Supply Chain Software product.  Project included work at 80 plants primarily in North America, Europe and Asia.

 

Nov 97-          TAVA Technologies, Inc.

March 00       Vice President, Atlantic Division, West Chester, PA; Nov 98 – Mar 00

Responsible for P&L management of the Atlantic Division of this instrument, electrical and control systems integrator.  Industries included refining, pharmaceutical, chemical and discrete manufacturing.  Position required management of 4 regional operations with a staff of approximately 200.  Management of Control System retrofit projects included scope definition, project management, instrumentation selection, electrical design, control system configuration and check-out and start-up.

 

                        Director of Operations, Western Region, Cypress, CA; Nov 97 – Oct 98

Responsible for P&L management of the Western Region.  Region included two branch offices (Los Angeles and Sacramento, California).  Focus was growth of systems integration and information systems business.  Projects were control system retrofit projects in the food, pharmaceutical and refining industries.

 

April  93-        Instrument Control Service, Inc.

Oct 97            Engineering Manager, Charleston, SC; Aug 94 – Oct 97

Responsible for the start-up and management of the Charleston Regional Engineering Group which oversaw EPC Instrumentation and Control System Retrofit projects.  The most financially successful engineering office start-up at ICS.  Projects included the Pulp and Paper and Chemical industries. Significant accomplishments included:

·Hired and managed over 25 permanent employees and 15 contract employees

·Provided management on projects, including scope definition, estimating, instrument selection, design engineering, control configuration, construction, check-out and start-up.  Construction projects included a paper machine retrofit, an electrical revamp of a batch chemical unit and the I&E construction of a new chemical and film production unit.

Responsibilities included serving as project manager including construction management, primary customer interface and technical lead for systems engineering projects.  Primary responsibility was overall EPC project management on a series of control system retrofits totaling $10 million.

April 93          Process Control Engineer –

Primary responsibilities involved control systems integration and engineering, production optimization, instrumentation selection, field verification and plant start-up.  Major projects included the project lead and start-up of a batch polymer plant; construction management for a grass roots polypropylene facility with two series reactors; start-up and check-out of a grass roots MTBE facility; engineering, construction management and start-up engineering for an oil production facility; and project definition and instrument and control systems definition for an offshore platform retrofit.

Served as the primary customer interface and project manager on over 40 distributed control system projects.  Responsibilities included project scope definition; schedule development; tracking; sizing; hardware layout; instrumentation specification; coordination of engineering, manufacturing and quality groups; configuration of control strategies and site checkout and startup.
