On the 22nd, Greg and Sheila and Brian flew to London for Christmas weekend. Train ride from Gatwick to Victoria Station and a cab ride to the Hotel at Grosvenor Square. Quick showers and then they went to meet one of Sheila's friends at a really cool French Restaurant. All kinds of great food and Champagne. After the flight, Greg was food and champagned out. Back to the hotel with stops at the US and Canadian embassies (Greg was sort of being Canadian this trip). Another stop for a pint and then a nap. After the nap they all went running, the lights for Christmas were most excellent. Showers and then off to find more pubs. Weird British men dancing together and other strange stuff. The next morning was a change of hotels to one along Hyde Park. Trips to Piccadilly Circus, the Texas Embassy, pub fare and Stella. Back to the hotel to catch the Cowboys-Panthers game. Then back to the pub. After the pub closed, back to the hotel where the bar stayed open quite late. Next morning was Christmas. Breakfast at the hotel, running, pub, dinner at the Four Seasons, pub, then back the hotel bar.
On boxing day the trains are closed for future reference. London is an excellent place to spend Christmas.
Greg went to Denver for New Years. John picked Greg up at the airport and they stopped at Dales for hearts. Greg and John and Maryanne drank all the beer. Dale had two. The next morning Greg and John went over to Johns and took all the Christmas ornaments down. Greg took a walk and after showers Greg and John went and ran errands and then went to the Ace. There was a Broncos party at John and Laura's before everyone left for the hotel. Mark and Joanne and Tom and Chris came to the Bronco party. Dinner at an Italian place. Jena amused Greg for dinner. More cards. Dale got annoyed when Greg took cat naps between hands. The next morning John took Greg to the airport for Dallas. New Years Day in Dallas and home on the 2nd.
